38 employees from various operating units and stations of the bureau were oriented and underwent hands-on exercises on how to manage cardiopulmonary resuscitation, use of the automated external defibrillator, rescue breathing, and basic airway management. These knowledge and skills are essential in providing immediate care to patients during life-threatening situations. The orientation also capacitated them on how to properly manage critical medical emergencies, such as cardiac arrest and obstructed airways.
Atty. Girly Dela Peรฑa, Head of the Human Resources Management Unit (HRMU) and Reginald Laxum Atabay, Chief-Fisheries Management, Regulatory, and Enforcement Division (FMRED) enjoined the attending personnel to actively participate and said, โThis is a good opportunity for us to be trained on basic life support. It is imperative not only to get and experience this training. This will also ensure that quick and appropriate action may be expected of you in an emergency situation within the work area or even outside in the field.โ
