The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources- Region 1 through Regional Director Rosario Segundina P. Gaerlan, together with the IMPL Project Philippines Foundation, Inc. through Executive Director Julius M. Suarez, marked partnership as they signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation of IMPL GRF project.
The project entitled โ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐๐ฌ๐๐๐ฉ๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฆ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ง๐๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฏ๐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ง๐๐ง๐๐, ๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ, ๐๐๐ฌ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ง๐๐, ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ข๐ง๐๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒโ covers 5 selected provinces involving 15 municipalities nationwide, of which 3 provinces (Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur and Pangasinan) with a total of nine municipalities are in region 1.
As such, the BFAR which is keen of developing a profound understanding and enhance adaption of the Ecosystems Approach to Fisheries Management (EAFM) and Coastal Ecosystem Management shall contribute to the overall project by establishing and maintaining effective communication and relationships with the beneficiaries; contributing to the conceptualization and implementation of activities as learning service providers and/ or facilitators; and providing necessary support in the monitoring and evaluation, and in ensuring the success of the project. The IMPL, on the other hand, commits to actively involve and engage BFAR in the said project opportunities towards shared development goals, objectives, and deliverables.
