
The Seaweed Development Program personnel under Fisheries Production Support Services Division acted as resource person in the hands-on training on seaweeds production project under Sustainable Livelihoood Program (SLP) organized by the DSWD Region 1 in Anda, Pangasinan.
Two associations, Marigold SLP in Tondol and Sealver SLP in Macaleeng with 42 individuals were equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary for seaweeds farming, especially in the fabrication of lantay cages and planting of seaweeds propagules.
This project, recently funded by the DSWD, is part of the agency’s support for the Zero Hunger Program.
