Gregorio Del Pilar, Ilocos Sur—The Baclayen Fisherfolk Association, is thriving in its third cycle, thanks to the continued support from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR)-Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD)-Phase II program.

In October 2024, the association received another round of support including 30,000 tilapia fry sourced from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-Cordillera Administrative Region (BFAR-CAR) and 100 bags of aquafeed.

This assistance aims to surpass their previous production levels.

Gina Dalingay, the association secretary, expressed gratitude for the on-going support, stating it will significantly increase their harvest compared to previous years.

The DA BFAR-SAAD program provides aquaculture inputs for complete cropping cycles over two years to participating beneficiaries.

These initiatives aim to strengthen the livelihoods of fisherfolk communities by providing sustainable resources and technical support. The Baclayen Fisherfolk Association’s dedication to improving production is expected to lead to enhance their income and greater economic stability.
