โ€ŽEight eligible fisherfolk beneficiaries from the province of Ilocos Sur received aquaculture inputs under the Pond Culture Techno-Demo Project of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources โ€“ Regional Fisheries Office 1 (BFAR-RFO1) today, July 11.

โ€Žโ€ŽFour beneficiaries from the municipalities of Cervantes, Quirino, Salcedo, and Narvacan were awarded catfish culture inputs, while another four from the municipality of Suyo received inputs for freshwater prawn culture.

โ€Žโ€ŽThe culture packages include catfish fingerlings or freshwater prawn post-larvae, commercial feeds, and harvest materials such as seine nets, weighing scales, cooler boxes, crates, and pallets.

โ€Žโ€ŽThe techno-demo project aims to introduce climate-resilient pond culture technologies to enhance productivity in highland and Indigenous Peoples (IP) communities.

โ€Žโ€ŽBFARโ€™s Provincial Fisheries Office in Ilocos Sur, in collaboration with Local Government Units (LGUs), will provide continuing technical assistance to ensure the effective implementation of the project.
